You are invited for an evening with Andrew Witney, Global CIO Corporate Bank Technology and Investment Bank Technology in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Barclays. Andrew brings a wealth of experience in strategic transformation as well as insight into governance and management of both operations and IT. Andrew has kindly agreed to a Q+A session, hosted by our very own Professor Ronan Gruenbaum, covering a wide range of topics including CIO as a business leader, getting the best out of IT, IT’s role in business strategy, global IT and operations management and leadership, strategy development, transformation and going from good to great for use of IT.

Introducing Andrew Witney

 

Andrew Witney has been Head of Information Technology at Barclays Capital since December 2004. Mr. Witney has responsibility for the development of electronic trading platforms at Barclays Capital. He served as the Managing Director of the technology division of UBS. At UBS, Mr. Witney was responsible for the development of its pan-European banking platform and also an internet bank for high net worth customers at UBS. While at UBS, he also led the development team that built the trading, data feed and market supervision systems for SWX, the Swiss stock exchange. He has been a Director of Barclays Capital since December 2004.
